Mission Statement

Hi. I'm Ginger Shostakovich, resident of Second Life since 2007. In that time, I've done many things and worn many hats - I've been an event coordinator, live reader, game host; I've been administrator of a writer's group; I've explored, shopped, hunted, and accumulated a too full inventory; I went premium, had an island, left Second Life for a year; came back, went premium again, got myself a nice place on Mainland.

But I realised recently that although I've been in Second Life for more than ten years now, I've only seen a small slice of Second Life's Mainland continents, and that can't continue.

I've tried driving motor vehicles, but I keep crashing into things - I can't steer well enough, or things don't load fast enough (I tried GTFO and that was an exercise in frustration). I've tried walking, but that's boring. Flying is counter-intuitive for this purpose - I want to see Second Life from the ground. So I got a bicycle, which works for me.

I'm going to rely heavily on the Second Life Road Network Directory, and other resources when I find them (they will be listed in this blog).

This is not a fashion blog (unless I find a cool clothing place on my travels). Yes, I'm still using a system avatar, and I don't intend to change that any time soon. Some of my clothing is old, and I don't care.

Hi. I'm Ginger Shostakovich, this is my bike, and I'm going on an adventure.

comments
